An old violin, at the end of its performance, got a new life as an artwork.
Created for a fundraiser for the Calgary Fiddlers' Association, this violin was auctioned off at the end of the concert held at The Blues Can in Inglewood. Both front and back were hand engraved with a Dremel tool. Various colours of oil paint were then rubbed into the grooves to reveal the images and text. All the words pertain to the history, the music pieces written for and the specific parts of a violin. Thus making it an homage to all past musicians this old violin belonged to at one point of its history.
