Co-designer and performer of this thrilling cross-city scent game. Players are foxes. We chased them with dogs.
First commissioned by Come Out and Play NYC, I co-created this game as part of the Slingshot partnership, developing the mechanic and writing the part of the Master of Hounds. The game was staged to aclaim in Berlin, New York, Bristol and had a sell out run at London's Soho Theatre

Players were foxes, complete with bushy tails. Playing in teams, and using their noses, they had to follow scent trails laid out around the city to discover the magic word at the end of each. Texting this to the game system gained the team points - a handful for nice smells like floral, a fat bonus for the more revolting; fish market anyone?

The foxes were given a three minute head start, then the Master of the Hounds came after them with dogs, following the foxe's own scent trails. If the dogs caught the foxes the Master of the Hounds took their tail and they became a hound, hunting other teams' tails for extra points.

The game platform ran on O2's Hash Blue SMS gateway, complete with nifty text based admin layer, both of which developed by long time collaborator @sammachin
