SÁBADO & SHIRTS

I first moved to Saigon in late August 2018 after graduating from High-School. After 2 months living there, I decided to take a pattern-making and sewing class in October, 2014 at a small fashion class in Saigon. There I first learned how to make a shirt and a shorts.

Later on I decided to start a small online shop where I could sell my hand-made shirts because new city, new opportunity, life is full of excitement!!
THE NEW SÁBADO
January - October 2016

Everything becomes better when you understand the techniques and what it takes to make a good shirt!!

I spent a lot of time in 2015 to do things. During this time I met a tailor lady who took me under her wings to teach me some techniques and she showed me how to sew, how to use the tools to bring the best sewing quality in each product!

Thanks Tuyet for the skills you taught me. It's the best thing anyone could do for each other, it is to teach!

John in the arrow-shirt - Taken in April, 2016 at The Observatory, Saigon.
Coconut button and plastic button, which one is better? Surely the coco !!
What does the Fox say? - Shirt !
Also the collar is the heart of the shirt, isn't it?
Coconut button and sea shells by the sea shore !
THE FIRST SÁBADO
February to May 2015.

This was the first time I ran the shirt-business all by myself - every single process : pattern-making, cutting, sewing, selling.
It's never easy when you're just an amateur but it would be possible when you have a big passion and you love what you do.

Hy Le in my very first shirt - The Daisy. This was the best-selling shirt ever at the time.
My French friend Clement in my The leaves shirt.
I was selling at the flea market in District 2 at that day and umm, thank a lot Clement !
I love this fabric so bad and so did people.
Pity I only made one piece and Guillaume bought it immediately. Merci Guillaume for supporting me !
After all, this was a great experience for me.
Running a small business with a small budget by my own. I took care of every proccess : Sourcing, Pattern-making, Sewing, Finishing, Marketing, ... and yeah, I enjoyed it a lot although I didn't really succeed it but at least I tried!

I am thinking about running this business again, really soon because I love it!
