彰化縣立美術館的首展名稱定為「彰顯藝能、幻化首映（印）」，當中集結了百餘位彰化藝術家的創作。
最初提案時以「化」字為主題，不僅是「彰化」、「幻化」的字面關係，美術館落成是「化」的一種、藝術家創造作品也是「化」的一種，遂結合彰化「山城」的美譽製作了兩款提案。而後主辦方希望以美術館的建築特色為主題，便誕生了最終筆桿交錯意象的視覺設計。

The first exhibition of the Changhua County Museum of Art was called “The Power of Art Gathered in Changhua,” in which more than one hundred artworks were displayed.
My first proposal was a design based on the character “hua,” (化) which has several interpretations including “change,” “illusion,” or “dream,” and which also happens to be part of the name “Changhua.” The opening of the Changhua County Museum of Art can be viewed as “a change,” and the artworks can also be seen as “an illusion.” The location of Changhua is on a mountain. Therefore, I initially created two posters showing Changhua as a mountain along with the word “hua” representing change. However, the client wanted to use the architectural design of the museum as the main theme, so the final visual identity shows imagery of intersecting pens which resemble the architecture of the museum.
