Porsche 911 Turbo (991.2 Turbo Pre-Launch Proposal)

With the introduction of the 930 in October 1974 as the turbocharged variant of the Porsche 911, the so called "911 Turbo" has become one of the best known, most performing and iconic cars of the 911 range.
Since then the 911 Turbo has featured some distinctive elements, such as the big, now rectractable rear spoiler, originally known as the "whale tail".
40 years later the 911 Turbo still retains the same fashion of the original model, thanks to the combination between the elegant yet sporty shape of the 991 and the original spirit of the Turbo model.
Following the introduction of a refreshed 991 Carrera, also known as the "991.2" and now featuring a totally new turbocharged engine for the firtst time since its introduction.
On this basis I made my own refreshed version of the 991 Turbo, also named "991.2 Turbo", trying to figure out how it might have looked.
The principle that inspired my work is the same Porsche has always used when it had to modify or design a new version of its most iconic model: "evolution rather than revolution".
The new 991.2 is still based on the "first" version of the 991, but now it incorporates all the new elements seen on the 991.2 Carrera. This new 911.2 Turbo features a revised front, much similar to the one seen on the Carrera that now incorporates a new central radiator grille and new headlamps, and an updated rear end as well, with a totally new grill, new air intakes and lights
The 991.2 Turbo is also rendered in its exclusive Cabriolet version, wich is essentially identical to its closed counterpart without a roof.
To complete the range I also decided to add my very own proposal: a special, and never seen, Targa Turbo version.
Based on the proposed 991.2 seen here, it follows the same styling principles seen on the Turbo version, differing from the other versions for redesigned rear grille only.
This 991.2 Turbo proposal carries the same 3 litres twin-turbocharged flat-6 engine seen on the new Carrera, now coming with revised turbocharging and injection system to improve performance and engine response in order to be perfectly fitted in the new 911 Turbo.
This revised engine would be able to deliver 540 Hp at 6.500 rpm.
The final version of the 991.2 Turbo was launched on December, 1 2015, and, especially if seen from the rear, it doesn't look too different from this proposal!!!
