Animal Shelter Website/Mobile Design

As an advocate of adoption, I found it disheartening when viewing animal shelter websites and found that they were either poorly maintained, not user friendly or hardly had any pictures of the animals up for adoption. Animal shelters had a missed opportunity to use their websites as a tool to increase traffic and visability of their animals with the use of a better organized navigation and emphasis of positive, professional imagery of the animals (which is proven to increase adoption rates).

My solution was to create a website design that would put postive imagery of the shelter animals front and center with strong calls to action. Firstly, the website would have a built-in search feature to search through a posting of adoptable pets, each with their own profile and immediate call to action to adopt.
Secondly, a hidden-style navigation would allow the strong images of the animals to stand forward and attract the eye.
Thirdly, the entire site would be mobile-friendly, allowing visitors to find their fur-ever friend from anywhere at anytime.
