Travesías Magazine
I was asked by Travesías Magazine to create 5 illustrations for an article about a boat trip along the Mekong River in Cambodia (organized by Aqua Expeditions). I had to illustrate the 5 highlights of this trip: the Cambodian rice fields, the archaeological temple complex called 'Angkor', the boat itself, the bird watching trip and the water villages.
It was a real challenge to try to capture the culture of Cambodia in my illustrations, but I am so happy with the results! I really focused on using the right color schemes and portraying the Cambodian life as it is (with just a little extra romance added to it). I was even more happy to hear that Travesías Magazine really liked my illustrations, and that they wanted to use one of them for the magazine cover! How cool is that? So thankful for this wonderful collaboration.
