This logo design is inspired from the Merlion symbol, which is iconic for Singapore. The two red parts at the bottom illustrate the hands cherishing the brown parts inside. These brown parts represent the past, which is also the foundation of Singapore.
On top of the logo is the symbol for a hand arranging jigsaw puzzle pieces. These two components illustrate that the future is in our hands and together, we are creating a desirable future for all.
The overall bright combination of colours (red, yellow, blue and brown) creates a joyful feeling. Hence, the colors imply that we are celebrating our present.
This is also my winning entry in the Pre-University Seminar Logo Competition in 2015 held by St. Andrew’s Junior College. The theme for the seminar is “Cherishing the Past, Celebrating the Present, Creating the Future.”
