The Challenge:
Under severe financial pressure, South Africa’s public hospitals started to purchase cheap and low-quality bandage products from China to cut costs. However, because the bandages were so inferior they had to be changed more often so using these bandages actually wound up costing the hospital more money. We had to get this point across to the hospitals’ Financial Directors.
The Solution:
We sent a DM pack of a bandage that was soaked in “blood” to the Financial Directors of SA’s hospitals. This pack made it loud and clear that using cheap, inferior bandages was causing the hospital to hemorrhage funds because the cheap bandages needed to be replaced 3x more often than Umsinsi ones.
The Results:
Umsinsi Health Care products are now firmly seen as proving quality and cost-saving.
The company has secured several public and private hospital contracts.
