Bijlmer Skies
This series of six paintings are from the skies of the outskirts of Amsterdam, the Bijlmer area, made with all sorts of tape.
The air in the morning,
an air in the afternoon.
When the sun sets all in gold, in the Netherlands it's provoking to seize the moment while you can, but also to just sit back and enjoy this favorite time of the day.
It's this paradox of hurrying to get to enjoy the sun, and relaxing while enjoying the sun.
Making the paintings with tape was therapeutic, drawing lines as a movement.
And as the night fell the sky didn't get completely dark but had a strange purple glow.
