Weekly Submission Site: the 52

the 52
Role(s): Creative Concepts, Creative Direction, Graphic Design, UI/UX
"a creative submission site, featuring a weekly winner"
OVERVIEW:
We are looking for a best in class platform to support and nourish our community through peer recognition. The site will provide a destination where users can feature their work, illustrate the process of creation, and allow others to recognize their efforts. By offering a direct method for visitors to share these submissions, they can solicit votes and share in their victories should their submissions be featured. Our revenue model is to have ads strategically placed in addition to a fee of $50.00 per submission. A weekly winner will be placed on the site (homepage) and a certificate will be mailed to them.
 CREATIVE BRIEF:
Creatively speaking, we are looking to our selected vendor to create an experience that is all at once gestural, clean, and essentially comprised of 2 unique views:
*a comprehensive view of submissions that can be sorted*a detailed view of each submission
 OBJECTIVE:
Functionally speaking, this site will only flourish if people participate. We need very clear and deliberate ways for people to submit their work. The same idea should also be applied to voting as well. all content should be syndicated across Twitter and Facebook. Users should be able to navigate from the main page, or a submission detail view.
FUNCTIONAL PLAN:
Create a presentation deck to include the following:
Entry experience wireframes
Tablet wireframes
Mobile wireframes
Sketches or models for how users will experience submission browsing
Diagrams or annotation wireframes to identify where and how voting and submission systems will function.
 CREATIVE VISION:
Create a presentation deck to include the following:
Entry experience design
2 detail page options
1 motion comp to illustrate the interaction of main page to detail, and then navigating from a detail to another.
This is a presentation I created using Adobe InDesign.  It shows my Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop files designed to demonstrate the site flow, site wireframes, graphic design and user experience.
Screen Shots
This first time user experience will tease the content behind the first lightbox.
This is what appears to all returning or newly welcomed visitors.  There will be 2 premium advertising spots on this page, static in position as the middle box will never move, but features infinite vertical scrolling.
The share widget is also static on the page, enabling the visitor to easily share what they find.  The experience can be filtered by the bottom, static widget, which also will feature a voting option for all members, who are signed in.
This is both an example of the detail lightbox browsing option on the desktop website and mobile application.  The difference between the mobile and desktop version is that the ads in the mobile version will be added to the rotation in the detail viewing experience, as opposed to a static positioned banner or big box ad.
This is an Adobe After Effects movie containing Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop files to demonstrate the user experience, via a motion comp.
