These are renderings of the spa competition that was held by an independant investor in miami. He was an alumnae of the University of Miami so he chose three of the top architecture students from all
classes from which i was chosen. The participants were given only one week to finish their entries but all would get credit at the completion of the project. However, only one would be built. Currently,
this site is part of a chain of salons. This one, the private investor decided to make into a much more upscale and exlusive establishment. Problems with the interior led to the redesign. The project was to create an upscale feeling with a classical touch which is why I chose to use cherry
woods and dark reds to create that soothing feeling, which is seldom found in the South Beach seting. In addition, a bar with attached heatless fireplace was added so that customers could enjoy yet another element that is seldom found in Miami. Overall, the goal was to turn a tacky day salon intoan upscale spa, that ladies of all age could enjoy.
