CFile is noted scholar and gallerist Garth Clark’s newest project, a nexus for the global ceramics community.  The website offers weekly news from every sector of the ceramics world: design, architecture, art, studio pottery, technology, books, exhibitions, and more. The site also includes a screening room, offering video resources of ceramic work, artist interviews, and virtual museum visits. We are honored to provide this wonderful organization with website design, programming, and graphic design services.

Built on the WordPress platform, the robust feature-rich website offers categorization and automated sorting as new material is posted live on the site; a dynamic homepage slider; rollover excerpts of each article in the results grids; integrated donation and subscription capabilities; and allows each CFile staff writer and editor his or her own login to contribute content on a continual basis. Our design architecture focuses on a clean and simple grid throughout, with sidebars linking social media and a featured weekly newsfeed.  

 

Colors are the cobalt blue and dove gray well-known in the ceramics field, with an accent of contrasting lemon yellow.  The color palette and design choices come into play again in our designs for CFile’s stationery and collateral materials: clean white space, narrow modern fonts, and a focus on the logo in a subtly heavier weight.
