I absolutely love animals. They're probably my favourite thing to draw.
I thought why not use the setting of a veterinary waiting room to showcase some humourous pet problems & emergencies.
I'd had this concept in my head for a long time, so it was great to get it down on paper!

Concept sketch for Croccy & Cat. This was the very first sketch, and the one that inspired the full illustration.
Initial sketches for the various pets (and their injuries!). I wanted to include both popular pets, as well as more exotic ones.
And no I have never seen a Giant Clam at a Vets, but why not?
This one never made it onto the final illustration, I think mainly because I felt it was funnier having him outside and dreading going in!
