CUP FOR PARKINSON’S PATIENTS

To design a product for patients suffering from Parkinson’s Disease that will help them to drink a beverage without

Research
Parkinson’s Patients were interviewed and asked questions. They were asked about the tasks that they find difficult to do before finalising on the brief. I also visited Parkinson’s Patients get together and dance sessions that helped them improve their coordination.
Concept
The cup is such that the liquid does not spill out as it reflects back into the cup due to its form. Thus, the problem of spilling has been solved by just simply changing the form of the cup and has been made attractive so that even healthy people will buy it (for kids).

Basis of the Concept
Most of the Parkinson’s patients do not drink in public places so as to avoid the embarrassment of spilling. The cup is made to look like any other cup so as to not make then feel out of place and attract attention, also not to remind them of their disease. The cup is such that not only will Parkinson’s patients buy it but any other person will.
