A Different Light foi um projeto desenvolvido durante o programa Ciência sem Fronteiras - Holanda, no curso de Arte e Tecnologia na Saxion University of Applied Sciences. A Different Light is a project developed during the Science Without Borders - Netherlands, for the Art and Technology studies at Saxion University of Applied Sciences . It’s main goal is to portrait gender as a gradient, instead of a “pink or blue” subject. Click here to see more.
Para o projeto eu fotografei o modelo Victor Amirabile sendo maquiado pelo artista Tom Simons e escolhi três destas fotografias, uma sem maquiagem, uma à meio caminho e uma com a maquiagem completa para representar diferentes expressões de identidade ou até mesmo diferentes facetas da mesma pessoa.
For the project I took several pictures of V.A. Amirabile getting his makeup done by T. Simons and picked three of these pictures, one without makeup, one in-between and one with the makeup done to represent different identity expressions or even different facets of oneself.
Separei as três fotografias em cores (CMY) e às sobrepus, utilizando um efeito halftone no Photoshop para uni-las.
I overlapped the three pictures, each one in a different colour (CMY), and went for a halftone look with Photoshop to blend them together.
No produto final há uma fita de LED RGB presa ao interior da moldura, conectada a um Arduino Uno e a um sensor de distância acoplado na base da moldura. O sensor foi programado para ligar a fita de LED quando alguém se aproxima da moldura e a mudança de suas cores cria um efeito de transição na imagem.
In the final product, there's a RGB LED strip hidden inside the picture’s frame connected to a Arduino Uno and to a distance sensor that faces what’s in front of the frame. I programmed the sensor to trigger the LED strip when someone is approaching the picture and it’s lights start changing, creating a transition effect.
