This Side Up - Game UI and Graphics

In this game, you drive a delivery van through the street, picking up parcels, delivering them and avoiding other cars.
You only have to press the left or right buttons to change lanes. The van automatically stays in its lane. If you hit other cars, you lose coins for repairs. If you drive outside the road (on the right) for too long, the police shows up and you get a ticket, losing more coins.
The bar at the bottom shows when you have to pick up and drop parcels. To pick them up, you only need to go over the colored spot. The pick-up and drop-off points are indicated by the arrows. A blue arrow pointing up is the pick-up of a blue colored package. A blue arrow pointing down is the drop-off area of the blue colored package. If you miss the pick-up of a package, the drop-off point becomes inactive.
The yellow bar represents how far along you are on the current route. There’s also a blue boost button and a red brake button. I didn’t want to use the typical pedal icon to represent braking, so I colored the button red and added downward-facing arrows, which in contrast with the boost button, should allow the user to associate that icon with slowing down.
When completing routes, you earn coins and gems.
You can use the coins and gems to upgrade your van, or buy new ones. There are four upgrades: engine, turbo, brakes and tires. Each upgrade has three levels: 1 – bronze, 2 – silver and 3 – gold. And they improve the capabilities of the upgraded van.
When you choose to upgrade the van’s tires to level 3, you get the option to purchase the upgrade with coins or gems, and you can see how it will improve the van’s acceleration and braking power.
Here you can see the animation when you click an upgrade button.
When you click the Play button in the main menu, you’re taken to this screen, where you choose one of the unlocked cities and a route in that city. The green ones are already complete, and the orange ones are not. You can play the green ones again to earn more coins.
Completing a certain number of routes in a city unlocks the next city. You can also unlock it with gems. If you complete all the routes in a city, a special route is unlocked, where you can earn more gems.
These are the 3D models I made and UV-mapped. The road was made by designing a profile of it and a path, which was used to generate the road model based on the profile. The same could be done on a 3D game engine to generate the roads based on just the vector path.
These are the colored vector icons I made. And here are the initial sketches
