Art Deco Headpiece

A headpiece inspired by any architectural era: Art Deco

The headpiece translates Art Deco's architechtural features. As seen, the design consists of three staked sunbursts, that are covered with black electrical tape (represents the embrace of the "Machine Age"). The first is covered in silk and shows a sunburst that starts all the way from the center of the head. The second has strips  that resemble metal sheets. On the inside, they are richly colored to represent a building's interior. And the very top, resmbles mechanical gears. It's covered with wire ornamentaion, like the ones seen on Art Deco buildings. The center ornament brings the entire headpiece together, it represents the heirarchy and symmetry in the Art Deco style.

Just like the fact that the owner of an Art Deco building felt incredibly special, the beaded threads are meant to do just that. The focus of my Headpiece is the woman wearing it, so not only do the beaded threads emphasise the length of the Headpiece, they also frame the woman's face, and substitute the use of jewellery. Finally, the inside of my Headpiece is bright red, which bares a resemblance to the interior.

Below is the final result, which is meant to capture the essence of Art Deco architecture.
