Make a lamp with only wood veneer and steel tubes (no connections) and at least 2 positions.

 

I've made a lamp that is fully controllable. The light setting is completely up to you and your mood.
The luminaire is steady yet simple. You can close it entirely for a soft dimmed light, or open it halfway for on your desk. You can choose the direction of the light and create different uses and moods.
