Beyond Risør - Set design

The Norwegian design exhibition Beyond Risør 2008, was a forum to bring young designers, experienced designers or architects together with manufacturers. Four teams were put together to make products which eliminate different acustical problems in open space offices, schools etc.

As a trainee at mmw architects of Norway I worked on acoustic walls together with the young designers at Stokke Austad and the wood manufacturer Bosvik.
(Please take a look at the project called Pentagon in my portfolio)

mmw architects also made the whole set up for Beyond Risør, which is shown in these pictures. The theme is trees or wood, because wood had to be a part  of the displayed projects.

The huge fabric ceiling made the pentagon shaped space in the middle more intimate. Around the illuminated room in the middle, where the projects were shown, we made a darker area where people could walk and meet in the meeting spots.

The area outside the pentagon in the middle was darkerand surrounded by this transparent fabric with ash trunks printed on it.  Below the "speed dating" areas, at theright, for the designers and manufacturers. The walls are inflatable walls, which were made for this exhibition, but later in 2008 they were used outsideDesigners Block, Covent Garden, during 100% Design London.
