PRODUCT.DESCRIPTION
The design is a wall-mounted product which works both as a single unit, or modularly as part of a larger network. The inherent capacity of tension to hold things in place was used as the building element of the design. The product consists of  single units made from 4 components that united create a sleek flat surface that doesn’t take up space from within its environment when wall mounted. The quadrilateral form, which gave birth to the product’s name; hooks against any wall and is multifunctional- serving as as a “”flat storage space”, a marker pad, and a cork board all at the same time.

MODULAR.DESIGN
Even though at first glance the shape of the product might seem a simple quadrilateral form; its capacity to tessellate allows the user to interact with the design and arrange it in the way most convenient to him/her. The stretched elastic straps along the length of the shape become the contrasting element when the units are tiled together- creating intricate linear patterns. The simplicity of the design is meant to allow users to display their objects, and organize their working materials in a way that is visually clear and at the same time interesting.
INFINITE.CONFIGURATIONS
Small space living inspires diamonds’ wall-mounted two-dimensional design. Its individual modules tessellate with each other allowing the user to create an infinite array of patterns and configurations. The Black and white contrasting surfaces are found on each separate module. Made from a steel frame, the modules also offer marker boards on one side, and black leather-laminated cork on the other. Elastic straps are also implemented to create movement and rhythm within the design and act as a medium of storage through its inherent tension strength.
FABRICATION.MATERIALS
The materials employed in the production of the pieces were all easily available. The frame that holds all the product’s components together is made from 1/2” x 1/2” rectangular steel bars. The main body is made from wood panels, with a layer of leather-laminated cork on the topside and a marker board on opposite face. Cork was used for its flexible surface quality and the usability that it could provide within student study contexts and professional work environments. Leather was implemented to provide a sleeker look, that would also be durable and still provide the same functionality.
IN.CONTEXT
The design can be configured to fit spaces of different sizes according to the users needs. It was designed as a sculptural alternative to conventional office marker and corkboards. Its flat design saves space, while still providing storage for basic workstation utilities such as scissors, rulers, markers, etc.

Diamonds was inspired by minimalism and utilizes geometrical forms to create unique configurations. It acts not only as a fully functional workspace piece, but also as a decorative wall sculpture.
