Expo Milano 2015 is the Universal Exhibition that Milan, Italy, will host from May 1 to October 31, 2015. Over this six-month period, Milan will become a global showcase where more than 140 participating countries will show the best of their technology that offers a concrete answer to a vital need: being able to guarantee healthy, safe and sufficient food for everyone, while respecting the Planet and its equilibrium. In addition to the exhibitor nations, the Expo also involves international organizations, and expects to welcome over 20 million visitors to its 1.1 million square meters of exhibition area.
 
In this project, Manifesto Game Studio was responsible to create the greatest interactive experience for visitors. This experience had to be fun and engaging, and, at the same time, needed to be educational and show how Brazil is technologicaly developed and healthy.
 
Four interactive experiences were created to fulfill this objective:
 
Food Map - This is an interactive and gamified map that explores Brazilian food production. Here, users can explore and uncover many of brazilian singularities, such as wine production, cookies, tropical fruits and many more. As the player go through the map, he get clues that help him to explore more.
 
Sustainability - This is an interactive mini game, where players can plant some species in a sustainable way. This game is intended to show how Brazilian planting technology, and how it is possible to have a developed agriculture at the same time you take care of the forests.
 
Familiar Agriculture - This is an interactive experience created to show how smaller farms can also be part of the brazilian production machine.
 
Food Safety - This is an interactive experience created to show how Brazil left the Hunger Map of the UN. Players can interacti with this application and discover how food can reach everyone in Brazil.
 
On this project, I worked as Game Designer. I was responsible to write the GDD with all game details and directions for the team. Also, I was able to work on the Level Design and game balance steps to improve the whole "interactive and educational" experience. I also had to choose good fitting sounds for the game, specially to build an amazing experience during the times where players are together enjoying the place.
