Cityscapes are more than just streets and buildings; they are thriving urban environments that inspire art,
culture, business and entrepreneurship. Johannesburg CBD is a historical core, and represents a wealth of prosperity
and potential, with various heritage sites earmarkedfor development and renewal to reinvigorate the inner city.

Drawing inspiration from the building’s prime location, we have created a grid from the street map of Johannesburg CBD.
An aerial view of the area createsa framework that runs throughout the design. The visual execution uses graphic shapes
and design elements, with emphasis placed on the aesthetic lines to create a bold visual language.
Colours comprise shades of silver, charcoal, black and grey, giving the artwork a distinctive look and feel.

The concept highlights the fact that the City Savoy Johannesburg is the most sought-after address in the city
− a gem in the centre of the CBD, ‘a diamond in the rough’.
