Inspired by the Freudian model of the psyche, the three theoretical constructs of our mental lives are illustrated in the lower part of the painting - the id, the ego and the super-ego.

In the world in which our inner selfs are dissected and transposed through the lens of others, we are often judged on others own personal terms. Thus, any attempts of making peace between our two extremes are seen as flawed, by an over-critical exterior, no matter the approach. The flowers are seen as wholes, the balance as chaos.
