Fifty-Six, A Seaweed Co.

This is a major project final year college brief where we were asked to design a name, brand, packaging concept, company brochure, website and mobile app. the brand was to be new, fresh, healthy and sustainable and aimed at wither food and health enthusiasts, chefs and health conscious families.
I decided to take a look at seaweed from a different perspective, while researching seaweed, I noticed the nutritional information resembled a lot of what an athlete would look for in their food. High protein, low fat and nutritional. This led me to look at it from the athletes perspective. I began looking at snacks and quick healthy eats. The name ’56’ came from the nutritional fact that seaweed contains fifty six minerals required by the body. The logo was created using the Devangari and DIN Alternate font. The logo incorporated a cut from the start of the “5”. This can also be separated to 56 to create a smaller logo which works better when applied with other words such as the two products created
Momentum 56 Bar
Propel 56 Crisps
56 Tracker App

After creating the logo I began looking at packaging which already existed the packaging which began to work was the layered pattern, I incorporated the fifty six logo into the design and this became the background to be applied across the board to all the products. The green and orange variations for the packaging and the white/black as the website, app and brochure background keeping consistency across all the brand products.
The colours were chosen to remind and symbolise the bright colours worn in sports especially the reflective outdoor clothing. The packaging was created simply to show the pattern rather than over complicate it. The brochure and adpod were created to represent the values and nutritional information from the products.
