Ecliptic Lamp
 Based on high precision machining
The Ecliptic Lamp is a product example of high precision machining and material function. A metal cone delicately descends inside the tubular lamp, reflecting the light outwards, either increasing or decreasing intensity of light dependent on whether the light is turning on or off
Ecliptic evolved from a concept of exploiting tolerances of material properties and machining to define all functions of the lamp, such as light quality and working duration. To achieve this, the cone and the tube were machined with meticulous precision, creating a small vent that reduces air flow, creating a compressed air pocket below, cushioning the descending cone. The highly innovative switch mechanism makes full use of its material properties, utilizing acrylic slits as insulators to separate the electric current.
