Project about lost and forgotten village located not far from town Osijek. Small village named Branimirovac or Babjak, which was its name before Yugoslavian civil war during nineties, consists of two streets positioned in L shape. There are nearly one hundred houses and maybe fifteen of them are populated today. This is partially because of the war and partially because youth sees its future in cities rather than in small village. Throughout my photos, I represent silence and extinction of this village: “everything is silent; people cannot be heard only some birds’ twitter and leaf that flies freely through the air. Solitude dominates, everything is left to the lonely nature. The greatest sorrow is to abandon home!” I want people to ask themselves whether is the right decision to leave a place like this, and whether village can be an alternative to urban poverty for young people and those who have lost their jobs.
