Designing for Language Preservation — Hokkien

In the face of a fast expanding economic growth and rapid urban development in this social media society, conserving rich cultural heritage are often being ignored or replaced and lost by contemporized interventions.

One vulnerable aspect in a cultural heritage at risk is language. It is a vital representation of identity and communication in any society. Each time a language is neglected and lost - the future human race loses an irreplaceable and cultivated way of being. As languages are the most powerful instruments for communication and developing cultural heritage, this would certainly be a cause for concern and especially important to preserve it.
