Run by and for teens, TeenTechSF's mission is to empower and inspire the next generation of tech innovators. We are committed to equal access to tech for all teens because diversity fuels innovation. Since launching we have connected 650 Bay Area teens from diverse Bay Area schools and organizations with more than 100 tech leaders from Apple to Zynga (updated 2015 stats). TeenTechSF has received certificates of honor from Mayor Lee and the SF Office of Innovation and the SF Board of Supervisors. Founder and Global Chair of TeenTechSF, Marc Robert Wong believes passionately in the power of technology to level the playing field and put the means of production in the hands of ordinary people. Since launching, TeenTechSF has connected 650 Bay Area students with tech leaders from Apple to Zynga. Last fall, TeenTechSF went global, livestreaming from Plug and Play tech accelerator, birthplace of PayPal and Dropbox and doubling participation to 1000 teens across the United States and in France, Switzerland, Moldova, Morocco, Turkey, China, Japan, and Peru. Run by and for teens, TeenTechSF mission is to empower and inspire the next generation of tech innovators and provide equal access to all teens to tech resources and opportunities. Marc is also a founding and current member of the San Francisco Public Library Board of Advising Youth charged with developing The Mix, a digital media resource center bridging the Digital Divide by providing tech resources and skills to any teen with a library card. Marc interned with TechCentralSF working on launching the Vets in Tech program and last summer worked as a research assistant at UCSF's Gazzaley Neuroscape Lab designing games incorporating bleeding edge tech from Oculus Rift and Kinect to analyze how physical training affects cognitive function. As a 2014 ESA LOFT Fellow, Marc was invited to White House and Congressional briefings on using game design as a unique platform for social impact and STEM diversity . Last month, Marc organized a presentation for the US State Dept delegation from Angola and Mozambique on the role of mentorship and technology in civic engagement in youth. Last weekend, Marc organized a TeenTechSF event with Tony Fadell, CEO Nest, godfather of the iPod, and new division leader charged with reinventing Google Glass and next month, TeenTechSF will hold its first event hosted by a public high school, “Diversity Fuels Innovation” in partnership with Galileo Academy for Science and Technology, Plans for Action in Challenging Times (PACT, non-profit dedicated to nurturing first gen college students), NexGeneGirls (Bayview non-profit for girls of color in STEM), the Hispanic Heritage Foundation, LinkedIn, TechShopSF, NASA NOVAS, and Upward Bound Math and Science. Marc will complete his baccalauréat français scientifique with a specialization in math this June and has been accepted at both Stanford and Harvard this fall.

Emilie Robert Wong, a dual citizen of the US and France, speaks four languages and brings the strengths of her multicultural heritage to every task she takes on: the rigor and discipline of her first generation immigrant French father, the respect for hard-work and mentors of her fifth generation American Born Chinese mother, and the spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship growing up in Silicon Valley. At 14, Emilie along with three fellow students, won the very first Google Technovation Challenge receiving $35,000 in development funding for her app and a scholarship from the Women@Microsoft. As a Technovation Fellow working on international initiatives, she translated the Technovation curriculum into French and recruited the first Technovation teams in Ghana and Moldova through the Peace Corps. The Moldova Technovation Team won the 2014 Technovation World Pitch and is currently being featured in a joint global collaboration between First Lady Michelle Obama and the Peace Corps #LetGirlsLearn. Emilie serves on the advisory board for TeenTechSF and is a founding member of the SF Public Library Board of Advising Youth charged with designing innovative programs and the physical space of The Mix, a digital media lab, opening this June. Last summer she was a research assistant at UC Berkeley's Gallant Lab using neuroimaging methods to study how the human brain represents and processes sensory and cognitive information, specifically working on a linguistics project analyzing how the brain processes multiple languages. She received her baccalauréat français scientifique with highest honors and a perfect score in math from the Lycée Français de San Francisco and is currently a sophomore at Harvard College double majoring in Neurobiology and Comparative Literature. She leads the Interview board for the Harvard International Review, is a contributing writer for the Harvard Book Review, and is the president of the Harvard Undergraduate Fellowship.
