I/O Interactive Chair

The first iteration of our 3D printed hinges. Inspired by the hinges from a white board.
Our prototype works! but how can we make it better?
Pointed edges wear down, so we flattened our pointy surfaces. We put them in squares so we could fit them tightly in our wooden frame. We used a generic 3D printer to print this. Not very strong-- so we made our final ones in the UPrint. Lesson: it would've been stronger (and cheaper) if we printed the hinge on its side to make it stronger.
Make sure you wear safety goggles when using the CNC!
The hinge in the slotted beam.
Tada! Final product. This configuration is for a table.
Our Professor, Greg Niemayer, enjoying our chair! :)
