I chose tribal art as my subject in the illustrative category of my college's art exhibition, because I wanted to portray the usually isolated (from the rest of the world) tribal life in a fun and lovable manner. I singled out the Samburu - a Kenyan tribe - during my research, because as an illustrator I was drawn towards their colourfulnesss and fascinating characteristics.
Ever fought to get married to the girl of your dreams?  Well, these fellows are doing just that, only with actual weapons in a public duel!
No matter how modern the world or warfare, these guys seem like they'll never stop training in or carrying their cool looking traditional weapons!
Just like everybody else around the world - they love singing and getting jiggy with the tunes their accustomed to.
The Samburu tribe started out by worshiping the God they call 'Nkai'", who according to them is a source of protection from the hazards of their existence.
If you ever got married to a woman from the Samburu Tribe, you'd have to make accomodations for a farm. A typical marriage dowry consists of seven or eight cattle, plus between five hundred and ten thousand shillings.

And this is how they look on the coasters!
