Memphis Vending Machine

This vending machine is styled on the the Memphis design movement and there are cues from some of the most famous products from the group including the Super lamp, the Carlton bookcase and the Bel Air chair within the design of the vending machine.

The vending machine dispenses the marbles from a hopper at the top and commences a run down various ramps, tubes and spirals in a rudimentary marble run towards the end tray at the bottom.

All of the sequencing of the LEDs and the movement of the stepper motor that dispenses the marbles is protoyped using the Arduino uno.

The final prototype has 2 infrared sensors to detect when the marble has vended correctly. The casing is manufactured from acryclic sheet and the bright colour make it visually exciting and compliment the Memphis styling - See it work below!!
