When I was young my granddad gave me a stamp book from 1958. Contained within this book were many old and interesting stamps, but the ones that stood out to me as a designer were parcel recites
from Czechoslovakia from the 1960s. The combination of blemishes and typography on these recipes show an interesting but hidden story. The main part of the slip was ripped off, only offering half of the story. Accompanied with the stamps it gives it context and meaning that relates to the time. This opens up the opportunity to interpret and create a narrative that before was unknown, incorporating my own designs and responses.
