Personal Manifesto

Personal Manifesto

My personal manifesto was a chance to create something that really defined what I enjoy as an individual as well as what I want to create as a designer. For me I am very much interested in immersion and digital spaces. I created this using my favorite software "Cinema 4D". Being a project i first created in 2015, revisiting it in 2017 really shows me self how far i have progressed with my confidence as a designer and the programs and software i use on a day to day basis. This shows my working space, as well as a few pieces of my other work, including a reference to the previous version in the bottom right of the room.

Personal View 2017

"As a designer, I find the world in its entirety inspires me, I am often thinking, “what would that look like on a screen?” I like to observe and take my time to see the small details others may miss. I choose not to rush and take in my surrounding from an outside perspective with no story or ties to better understand it. This drives me to learn new things to better understand and create, as it opens up my opportunity’s to visualize things in a new and innovative way. This influences my work as I often create immersive experiences that are driven by my personal influences. As a designer my studio is one of my most important influences, I treat it as a personal project, with each thing being there for a reason. From personal trinkets that have no practical use than to visually inspire to thing’s I can interact with and aim to create interesting and exciting ideas for both the world and myself. The act of immersion is something I enjoy exploring, from video games to music, the idea of immersing yourself in something entirely to the point that you start to live through these experiences and grow because of them. I think about this with my work, as Jess Vandermeer says "If the reader enters a kind of immersive experience reading a book, then I have to enter kind of immersive state to do my best work"
