Marillion is a progressive-rock band from the UK, founded in 1979. Their fans are known for their obsession for the band, once bitten my the Marillion-bug they will follow the band all over the world and beyond. Marillion's Fans: stories from all over the world contains a variety of extraordinary personal stories from fans from over 40 different countries about experiences they had with/because of the band. Ranging from people visiting their shows more than 300 times to getting married on stage, it shows how far these fans will go to be a part of the Marillion family.
When designing the book my colleague, Jennifer van der Kroft, and I realised the fans were somewhat infected with a Marillion virus, driving them obsessed with the band. That's why we decided to make a personal virus-themed illustration for each story that shows both the person who is telling the story, as well as the essence of what the story is about. Below you can see my share of illustrations made for the book.
