This is a poster promoting the Davidson Academy Theatre Department's theatrical production of The Lion, the Witch, & the Wardrobe - based on a novel by C.S. Lewis and adapted for stage by the theatre director, Tony Morton. When approached with this project, I immediately reflected on all of my childhood memories of reading C.S. Lewis' Chronicles of Narnia. I decided to make an illustration-based poster that was reminiscent of children's book illustration. With watercolor brush in hand, I created one of my most beloved scenes from The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe - Lucy discovering the lamppost. To add longevity to the interest of the illustration, I added a hidden image of a lion - representing Aslan, the wise God-like character in the story.
