Gyan-gaadi
Education for underprivileged children in the cities
This is an academic project for designing a service for the education of underprivileged children in the city. This is such a field where profit-making service is out of the question. There are a number of NGO's working on this cause, so initial research work was focused on their business model and identifying the problems they faced. Then I came up with this concept of a mobile school for education of construction workers' children.
The service Gyan-gaadi brings education to the doorsteps of hard-to-reach kids in urban India.

The service provides basic education to the children of the labourers at the construction sites. With the collaborative efforts of the service and Builders, the school keeps moving as the kids move to different sites within the city. It aims at making the child confident & aware. It also supports meritorious kids' higher education.

Such a service is quite feasible & desirable because unlike most existing services it doesn't require the child to stay away from his family in hostels.

I also wrote a paper about this service which has been selected for publication at USID 2011 (http://www.usidfoundation.org/)
Service Ecology Map
This map gives an overall picture of all the stakeholders, objects and their relationships. It gives a general idea of how the service will work. This helped me identify the functional errors and correct them.

Customer Journey
This is a storyboard where all the service touchpoints, main stakeholders and service evidences play a crucial role. This helped me refine the service concept. Here I've tried to use a a comic-book style with posterized photos as background and sketched the characters on them.
