Looking across the garden, June 2009. New trees set in a meadow of longer grass are intended to screen the new building development outside the garden wall.

The trees are mainly ornamental fruiting and flowering species (crab apples, hawthorns, cherry, plum, Amelanchier) intended to give the impression of an orchard.

Mown grass / meadow margin, June 2009. This is the second year we've allowed the grass to grow long here. We have planted spring bulbs (Camassia, Crocus) and will plant wildlowers amongst the grass in the autumn.
