Layout of the book “Storia abbreviata della letteratura portatile” by Enrique Vila-Matas, together with my project partner Elena Lombardo in the Editorial Design course in the Visual Design master during my education time at the Scuola Politecnica di Design.
The topic, the "Dada", led me, along with my project partner, to the "building" of the guiding concept for the layout of the book: the "Chaos".
A chaos that is, in this book, an "ordered" one: the bold letters throughout the book highlight a sentence; at the beginning everything seems random and without a rule, but, as you go ahead in the reading, you understand that is not random at all, but it's a meaningful sentence that is formed by these letters.
This is a quote you can actually find inside the book and, in our opinion, it explains his base concept.
The S cut on the cover has been done by hand after printing.
