Project title “Old&Gold”

 

During thins project my main goal is to give different value and understanding of left behind , abandoned objects, feeling,

moments, places. Going to a flea market is like discovering traces of everyday life which existed next to you but you never had opportunity to see it from the inside. Finding an old film with captured moments of happiness of people you don't know but they could've lived just few streets away from you. Finding some old brushed, instruments or notes – it all can bring you closer to understanding values of the society in the past and how it changed nowadays. Some objects that were used before nowadays younger people wont even recognize what it was used for. My aim is not to explain it but more concentrate on shape and value it had before. Taking as basis proverb “Old is Gold” I will paint found objects in gold paint to exaggerate value of the object and photograph it in arranged compositions, collages, installations.

 

This project will be done with use of different media such as photography, illustration, collaging. It will be an important part of the project and it will be the outcome of work done behind it. Work on this project involves constantly visiting flea markets and antique shops in search of old objects, postcards, films etc which are related to past and often bring nostalgic connection to people who used to have or use similar ones. Those objects will be arranged in sill life's or photographed in exterior to match composition and light requirements. Main line for the project will be golden color. Some of the objects in created composition will be painted in golden color and will represent forgotten values and changes we are going through as rapidly developing society.

 

Audience Audience for this project can vary from people who are interested in conceptual work and research done while creating it . Some written notes can accompany created compositions and give some information based on objects specifications,year of production, ways to use it, etc. Also interest in this project can appear among people who are not so interested in conceptual work but the recognize objects used in creating these peace of work and they have some connection and remembrance about using them.

 

Playful but at the same time not very abstract. Photography still will be more documentary even though composition can contain some artistic values connected with theme of the project.

 

Installations and still life compositions will be created from found objects and they will be documented with means of photography or scathing. Found undeveloped films can be scanned and could be also included in final book as they are or collages can be created on the base of the scanned and printed images. All this material will be combined to create book featuring the development of the concept and final result. Also posters and postcards could be done with application of selected images from the project.

 

Media used for this particular project will be conceptual installations, photography, projection, etc. Color limitations will be sat by always having gold color in composition depending on how it will be more appropriate to use it considering concept and composition itself.

 

During presentation final outcome of the project will be presented. It will include printed book or booklet, postcards, posters,etc. All of this materials will be done in consistent style which will reflect main idea and concept and will present project in most suitable and consistent way.
