RUHE (roo) is a sole proprietorshipluxury outdoor retail and accessories store for men located in the city of SanFrancisco offering top of the line quality sporting retail brands at respectableprices. The owner is fashion designer Mariana Ruiz who travels extensively totrade shows, speaking directly with designers, searching and handpickingunique, vintage-inspired, fashion-forward outdoor apparel and accessories. Thelook of RUHE is nostalgic and rugged and incorporates new brands andlong-standing obscure brands that are still functioning today.
The RUHE customers aremen between their mid to late 20s well into their 50s who enjoy outdoor leisureactivities, are environmentally and socially responsible, and fashion forward.They look for timeless, functional pieces that are unique and special forwear-and-tear. RUHE would like to give the customer a personal, explorer-likeexperience in the store and adding one-on-one service with a friendly,knowledgeable staff and alteration specialist for quick fixes. Walking intoRUHE, a customer does not just look to price as the deciding factor, but ratherat quality, integrity, and that unique and special factor that is unlike theother products seen before.
            Althoughthere is strong competition, RUHE offers products that are both similar anddifferent in the respectable sense. RUHE is less conservative and more aboutfashion than vigorous activity compared its counterparts. The outdoor retailmarket continues to flourish in sales due to an increasing amount of people whoactively participate in outdoor activities and RUHE wants to cater to thesepeople and their dynamic lifestyles. Prices are set higher than most outdoorstores due to the unique and high-quality products found in RUHE that are notonly functional, but aesthetically pleasing.
In order to begin operation of RUHE,a bank loan of approximately $100,000 is desired. This loan includes all costsfrom rent to promotions to traveling expenses and shipping costs. Requestedrepayment time is ten years in a monthly payment basis with the lowest interestrate possible. RUHE is a risk much like climbing a glacier mountain. However,with such risks therein lie adventure and a promising future. There are hopesfor RUHE’s expansion within the next 5 years extending to e-commerce, bringingin more internationally artisanal products and brands and extending these linesto women as well.
