The California Deserts are full of old abandoned mining towns. Once wild and prosperous cities, these places are now filled with abandoned buildings and a unique way of life. Ghost towns like Randsburg and Red Mountain were once major mining communities producing gold, silver, and tungsten. Now the mines are closed and these towns are just historic tourist stops on HWY 395. My series of photographs seeks to capture a sense of the past as well as the feeling of abandonment and lost identity.
