Drawing based in the mythology from the tribe Waurá that lives in the High Xingu region in Brazil. In their mythology extra-human creatures transform and appear when a person is dying, has a serious disease or is in a trance. These creatures dress up with ornaments as to disguise and walk around in the human world.
The illustration was developed for the Parla! - Ladeh 4th Characters Design Exhibition, led by the universities PUC-Rio, in Brazil, Universidad Iberoamericana, in Mexico, and Parsons The New School for Design, in the USA. The illustration won the first place among the Brazilian participants and was elected by a panel from Parsons .
This is a dynamic illustration, so that with the use of a red gelatine filter the red part in the drawing disappears and it is only possible to see the blue part, what would be the real form of the extra-human creature.
Desenho baseado na mitologia do Alto Xingu da tribo Waurá, na qual seres extra-humanos têm a natureza altamente transformacional e aparecem para as pessoas durante situações de morte, doenças graves e transes. Esses seres utilizam de fantasias para andarem pelo mundo dos homens.
A ilustração foi desenvolvida para o Parla! - Ladeh 4a mostra Ladeh de Design de Personagens, com integação entre as universidades PUC-Rio, no Brasil, Universidad Iberoamericana, no México e Parsons The New School for Design, nos EUA. A ilustração ganhou primeiro lugar nas ilustrações brasileiras selecionada pelo juri da Parsons.
Com o intuito de ser uma ilustração dinâmica, ao utilizar de um filtro de gelatina a parte do desenho em vermelho some e é possível só ver o desenho em azul, o que seria a forma do ser extra-humano sem fantasia.
