THISABLES
ThisAbles, has been made to make people with any kind of impairment being able to move by their own around the city. We are all individuals who can make such difference giving a hand to those who may need us at some point. We are conscious how mobility can affect our lives a daily basis. We all use transport for every aspect of life. For these reasons I would love to make aware to all the transport users to support this campaign.
I have had prior experience in the charity sector, having made brand identity and a International art fair’ whole graphics campaign. As well I count with experience in the care sector which I would love to reflect on my designs. I want people to be more independent, which is basically my role as a support worker, it means for me I know well the sector and its users. They trusted me to create the whole brand identity for the Impact Art Fair an international art fair helping to artist with disabilities and mental health problems to put their work out to be seen. I collaborated with the same charity helping out with the Thigh Museum, a portable museum, which funds artist with disabilities and mental health problems.
The beginning for me was constantly to create a new campaing, modern, vanguards using fresh, fashion and vibrating color’s palette, with single shapes simulating a new signage language to be remembered and memorable.
Now days when using media as Facebook, Twitter and so, I realized that we love quoting. People like quoting!!! Almost all you find is quoting, be happy, be positive… We all want to be better people and improve ourselves then I decided to select famous people’s quotes to make people aware and touch their hearts, using typography with subliminal messages as using different sizes, color and types. For the quoting I created a whole range of print design as spread magazines, leaflet, posters, advertisement which will be shown near transport spots as underground and train stations and airports. As well has been created some guerrilla adverts as are stickers, to stick them inside stations on the floor, Paula Scher, one of my favorites graphic designers, who lives and works in NY, has concluded that signage in busy places are better seen on the floor, because it seems is where we see the most.
For supporting the campaign I have created a portable room and a trolley, which would be traveling around England promoting this campaign, today in London, tomorrow in Brighton and so. I think the idea is amazing, affordable for any charity. It could be build up by two people, transported with a car and it could be just like a tent material or air inflatable, water proof and elastic to easy use. The trolley can be around the transport areas giving the transport users some information about the campaign. Them two have the hexagonal round corner shape to make the brand memorable, as it is in the logo pretending the heads of the people with certain disability, in this case is a deaf person, blind person and a wheel chair user. With “NAO” of national ability organization.
Next element of this campaign I have created a mobile app, which would help people with disabilities while walking or using transport, with adapted size in pictograms and text. It could be used by many different kind of impairments which makes the app ready to voice search, voice guidance, vibration mode and big arrows to better see the phone content. As well the app is adapted to be use with google glasses, which are already in the technology market and very soon they will be around everywhere. A promotional video has been made to rich the possible app users.
