[ES] España posee una gran tradición artística, artesanal, de artes aplicadas y de diseño, donde todas las creaciones se ven influidas por un elemento característico de nuestro país: la luz. 

Esta se configura como el punto de partida, como parte fundamental de la inspiración que ha llevado a relevantes personalidades a crear obras y diseños que han representado a España internacionalmente. Gaudí, Alberti, Sorolla, conocido como el pintor de la luz, o Antonio López, quien se ha inspirado en la luz del amanecer para pintar numerosas obras, son algunos de los genios que se han valido de ella.

La luz lo inunda todo en España, forjando un país que derrocha energía, inquietud y vitalidad, e incitando a la creación. Esta, además, provoca que el proceso creativo en España sea más vivo y dinámico y que las mejores ideas y diseños se proyecten al natural, en el exterior.

España “da a luz”; sus creadores “dan a luz”, exhibiendo en la Tokyo Designers Week sus creaciones, engendradas bajo la influencia del sol y la luz.

Por otro lado, este elemento posee una importancia fundamental desde diferentes ámbitos. Desde un punto de vista hipotético, la teoría del color se asienta y desarrolla en torno a la luz; socialmente, representa la vida; y, popularmente, está muy presente en la población, basta recordar el traje de luces.

Por todo ello, hemos considerado este elemento el hilo conductor del proyecto, aquél en torno al cual gira todo y al que le debemos la fuerza y energía del diseño español.

[ES] Spain has a great artistic, craft, applied arts and design tradition, where all creations get affected by such a unique element in our country: light. This makes the starting point and foundation for the resulting inspiration that has led many personalities to creating pieces of work and designs to represent Spain internationally. Gaudí, Alberti, Sorolla, known as the light painter, or Antonio López, who got inspired by dawn light to paint many works of art, are some of the geniuses that have made use of it.

Light takes all over the place in Spain, building up a country that is bursting with energy, curiosity and vitality, and encouraging creation. In addition, light makes the creative process in Spain to be more vivid and alive and the best ideas and designs to be projected unadorned, in the outside.

Spain and its creators give birth to their creations by exhibiting them at the Tokyo Designers Week, which are conceived under the influence of light and the sun.

On the other hand, light takes up a high relevant position also from different angles. From a hypothetical point of view, the colour theory takes root and develops around light; socially, it represents life itself; and, popularly, it is a constant among people. It is enough to see the matador’s outfit (“suit of lights”).

For all of these reasons, we have considered this element a common thread for the project, a guideline that makes everything revolve around it and the one we owe the strength and energy of Spanish design.
