A draft compilation of some of the 2D and CG animations and animation direction work I have been doing over the years. Still in the middle of converting and implementing more of my work which I will upload soon.
SECTION 1:
My Friends Tigger & Pooh (TV Series / DVD Featurette)
Some of the scenes I have animated for the above mentioned production. We had to produce 7-10 seconds approved animation per day, hence there was very little time for refinements.
I also produced lots of layouts for the Series and the DVD in which we assembled the environment, established the camera as well as the key poses for the animation.
You will also see a test-animation I have prepared after the Series was finished. I animated the characters to a dialogue I took from the sitcom "King of Queens".
SECTION 2:
Literacy Planet (Web Commercial)
Literacy Planet was a nice little freelance project that I have designed the characters for, prepared the storyboard / animatic and produced the rough animation for.
SECTION 3:
7DWARFS (Cinematic Commercial)
This project was such a fun project to work on! Together with Arne Jysch we brought this project alive from scratch. Anna Jander produced the beautiful traditionally painted backgrounds in the commercial. We have designed the characters, the storyboards, layouts and key animation ourselves. Inbetwens and color have been sent to Eastern Europe.
The 40seconds clip has been finished in 3 months time and has been screened in local cinemas.
SECTION 4:
Streetfighter IV (Game Intro)
Capcom's streefighter IP got a complete make-over with their Streetfighter IV series on XBox, PS3 and PC. The intro animation and the PR material used the same rigs. Both got heavily worked over with ink effects which made the art look very distinct and innovative.
We had to animated the characters ignoring all the usual animation rules and the heavy rigs made it very difficult to produce strong poses. The camera added a lot to the actual aniamtion The outcome is very exciting.
SECTION 5:
@venturers (animated teaser trailer)
Once again Arne Jysch and I combined forces on directing this animated teaser trailer for a TV Series with the same name.This time i was more involved on the animation side while Arne put his extra efforts into the storyboard.
The property has been developed and our job was to make the designs and storyboard stronger. The 1:42 teaser trailer has been produced in a time-frame of 3-4 months.
SECTION 6:
A.C.E (student project)
The A.C.E TV Series concept and its teaser trailer have been developed as a measurement to setup an animation studio within the NGEE ANN POLYTECHNIC campus in Singapore. This studio simulated a professional animation studio enviornment and chosen students participated in studio projects (such as A.C.E) to learn the workflow and requirements of animation productions.
My job was to establish the studio, to develop a TV animation concept with the students and to produce the animated teaser trailer with the same students under my supervision.
This was part of the government efforts to establish an animation industry in Singapore.
