Restamax Plc. Head Office - part 1

The NEW Restamax Plc. Head Office

This original factory office building of the former Verkatehdas cloth mill was completed in 1896 by architect Mr Carl Theodor Höijer. Luckily it did survive the demolition mania of the 1970´s, unfortunately the rest of the industrial red-brick buildings along the east bank of Tammerkoski rapid which runs through the city center of Tampere, were not so lucky. Since the shut-down of industrial activities the building housed the city tourism office more than two decades. Restamax Plc. acquired this beautiful listed building from the municipality in early 2014.

The building was completely renovated in fall 2014 and now there are two restaurants on the ground floor (August von Trappe Belgian Bistro & Bar, managed by famous celebrity 2-Michelin star chef & co-owner Mr Hans Välimäki: https://www.behance.net/gallery/21351593/August-von-Trappe-Belgian-Bistro-Bar), as well as the head office premises of Restamax Plc. on the upper floor.

Our company Visionary Design Partners Helsinki Inc. was in charge of the project management, procurement, space planning and interior design.

"First of all we wanted to honor the history of the building which is more than 100 year-old. We also wanted the interior design of the Restamax Plc. head office to be at the same time, both respectful to the spirit of the building, but we also wanted the interior to be modern and elegant in its entirety. Jaana managed to meet all of these expectation and we are really pleased with the result"
