The website "Vedic Jyotisha" was to be designed with the objective of creating a learning ground for the ancient science of Vedic astrology. 

The website was to facilitate easy reading, and help the reader discover posts of further interest to him. 

The design was evolved around some of the core ideas of Vedic astrology - mysticism, Hindu origins and tradition. At the same time, it was to have a modern feel. Artwork akin to traditional alpana & rangoli designs of Hindu households and the play of light and shade was kept as the central idea for the website. The rest was achieved through the color palatte, minimalist layout and modern typefaces that make reading easy as well as provide a modern look. 

The color palette was to have a deep brown tinge without looking dull. White, orange and pink traditional patterns were composed on the dark brown to add interest and colors to the design.
