Aces and Kings combines my lifelong love of fighter planes with a modern, alternate-history where what would be the majority of the continental United States is the benevolent Kingdom of Hudsonia, ruled by the noble and beloved King David III until it was attacked and overthrown by the vicious Baron Jakob Drachen of the Republic of Rhein-Loire. The story centers around Prince John, the youngest son of King David III and Queen Emily, and his journey from the fallen kingdom to the lawless regions of the Westerlands and back.

Located in where we know as central Europe, primarily France and Germany, Rhein-Loire is a nation built on strife and warfare, but was crippled decades ago by a cataclysmic war, only to be rebuilt by the rise of Hudsonian exile Baron Jakob Drachen.
The Shining Knights
The premier fighter squadron of Hudsonia, lead by the greatest pilot of his generation Crown Prince David IV.
The Golden Lions
A close contender to the title of greatest squadron, the Golden Lions are lead by Duke Commander Phillip Shepherd, cousin of the Queen.
Viper Squadron
A mercenary squadron out of the deserts of the Westerlands, the Vipers will combat any threat to innocent civilians... for a price.
Dragon Flight
Baron Drachen's own personal fighter squadron, Dragon Flight of the Republic of Rhein-Loire are the most feared pilots in all the realm. All they leave are flames and ash.
Sand Spiders
Another mercenary squadron of the Westerlands, the Sand Spiders are notorious for the chaos and destruction that tends to follow wherever they roam. Lead by the vicious King Tarantula, the roar of their engines strikes fear into the heart of all but the bravest of pilots.
Sea Ghosts
A carrier-based squadron originally from the Imperial Shogunate across the Vulcanic Ocean, the Sea Ghosts have renounced their Emperor's expansionist ways in favor of protecting the denizens of the Vulcanic Rim from aggressors.
