Lille Fete de L'anim 2014 - Animation Marathon
Cambridge School of Art - 2014 - 48 hours
This was created in a 48hr animation marathon with around 20 other teams from Universities around Europe. Each team started with the same image (a never before seen illustration created specially by Frank Dion) and had to create 10 seconds of animation based around that image which would then be combined into one longer animation.
The team that went from the Cambridge School of Art included myself, Shawy, and Charlie Taylor. We came up with a short circular narrative and then storyboarded it together. Each of us then worked closely to complete the 3 - albeit short - scenes in 48 hours.
Our individual roles were quite flexible since we had very little time, and everyone pitched in when they had gaps in their workload. Roughly, Charlie and Shawy hand drew their animation and digitised it before passing it on to me for compositing, grading, and editing.
We rendered and submitted our segment with abour 5 minitues to spare! It was a fantastic experience, and a challenge I really relish; coming up with an idea quickly and collaborating closely to achieve it.
Thanks for watching!
